Less anticipated perils of nudism: Naked German women found in woods
Less amusingly, exploitation of berry pickers.
Apparently Morrisons sells jars of bilberries from Poland (where they are presumably picked by Poles), and any potential radioactivity doesn't present a health hazard. Alas, I don't have a local Morrisons. I shall have to go to Ilkley Moor when in the north later this month.
ETA: Comments frozen as nude hikers appear to attract lots of spam!

Mervyn Bunter, knotting his tie in front of the large round mirror that was one of the few tolerable features of the small studio his lordship had seen fit to rent in Kirkudbright this year, found that despite everything he was looking forward to the evening. It was true that the film to which he was squiring the young person Elizabeth was one he had already seen in London, and that it had merited only a negligible claim on his attention the first time, but as he did not intend to spend much time watching it this was of little concern. He distributed notecase, cigarettes, and a bag of boiled sweets in their various pockets, and, after a moment’s contemplation over the sponge-bag, slipped a small packet in with his handkerchief. The girl wasn’t bad looking, and one never knew.
She wore a surprisingly attractive hat and coat, and introduced him to the box office attendant as a “Mr Bunter, a real London servant” in a tone of awe that promised much. They took their seats second from the back row (pushing things too early never paid off), she ate her ice-cream, and then turned to him her wide, foolish, cornflower blue eyes,
“Oh, Mr Bunter. Do tell me everything about his lordship!”

Date: 2010-08-03 06:38 pm (UTC)Ed. And I hope it is a general need of Wimseyfic and not Wimseyfic as balm to life's trials.

Date: 2010-08-04 06:51 am (UTC)It is! I really can't complain about my life right now, apart from the shocking dearth of Wimseyfic, which you have kindly ameliorated. And with the promise of more in the offing, I think (I hope) I can andure the wait for the next installments.
his lordship's are less likely to be conducted up against a wall
LOL! Bunter in bit-of-rough mode. I approve.

Date: 2010-08-04 09:26 am (UTC)I fear that life too often holds a shocking dearth of Wimseyfic. I fear I cannot actually recommend this one (http://mylodon.livejournal.com/184782.html), not least because it does a "Voldemort's daughter inspires Harry to save the world", but I was quite entertained to see a published author who is clearly inspired by Wimsey making her characters inspire the man himself.

Wish fulfilment is what fic is FOR.

Date: 2010-08-04 11:48 am (UTC)You're going to have to read my Corsican mpreg Potter crossover with bonus valet-rogering though. But Harry Potter isn't in it, and duels, Corsican inn-keepers' daughers and Bunter in motorcycle leather are.

Date: 2010-08-04 11:57 am (UTC)You have to be careful with me an analogies. I'm relentlessly literal-minded. However, venturing into the story, I find that the description of 30 year old "Jonty" - which would be off-putting but just about bearable were he seventeen - prevents me from reading any further for fear I encounter any more authorial drooling.

I know. But I am planning to skim through the HP bits with my eyes as close to shut as possible. I have faith that you will make it worth my while.

Date: 2010-08-04 09:15 am (UTC)Bunter's Worst Nightmare
Date: 2010-08-04 12:30 pm (UTC)Whilst Bunter had never been a boy scout, he felt that they had some good ideas
"It ain't right," said the man, his fingers fiddling nervously with the battered hat he was holding. "My Nellie's a good girl. She ain't never done it before, and she won't be doing it again, I'll see to that. But she's got a good situation at the Park, and they'll kick 'er out as soon as they realise, an' wot I say is, it takes two to tango."
"Quite right," said his lordship, suppressing an irritable desire to enquire why everyone always came to him on such occasions. "I'll cover the expenses, of course, Mr - er - Smiff, and in the meantime, you may rest assured I shall be having words with my nephew."
Nellie's father blinked at his lordship, puzzlement in his honest blue eyes.
"Your nephew, my lord?"
"Jerry. It's time the young blackguard faced up to his responsibilities."
"There must be some mistake, my lord. It weren't no Jerry wot knocked up my Nellie, it was a Mervyn."

Date: 2010-08-04 02:01 pm (UTC)As for Peter's reaction, some things are best left to the imagination. But I'm sure he docked the expenses out of Bunter's wages.
