A law of nature

When a potential shopper goes into Lidl/Aldi, one of two things must happen:
(1) They leave without making a purchase.
(2) They leave having purchased at least one item that they did not intend to purchase when they entered the shop.
This post is brought to you by a day on which I visited both. I was at least able to resist the licorice liqueur*, and sadly did not have to resist the merino mid-layer which was what I went for**, because although it was great and only £15, it had a high collar and the wool wasn't quite hard*** enough not to irritate my neck.
I do have some blackberry liqueur and a very large amaryllis bulb. And mini-stollen.
*Possibly the least difficult thing I have ever done in my life.
**Officially for cycling, but I reckoned it would work for skiing.
***That may not be the technical term, but I know what I mean!
