After the wailing and gnashing of teeth of last week, things have perked up a lot this weekend. The return of the spring weather was a bit help. I had a lovely weekend with [personal profile] antisoppist, and though we both had to work Friday afternoon, we also both got the work done, and since Saturday morning have achieved the following, in ascending order of importance:

(1) Had amazingly delicious raspberry panna cotta tart from the Farmer's market. I hoped it would be nice, it was perfection.

(2) Having on Thursday thought "what I really need is a White Stuff cardigan", purchased a White Stuff cardigan in [personal profile] antisoppist's local charity shop for £6, perfect condition.

(3) Phoned Next about my missing order, spoke to lovely and helpful person who found it stuck in packing limbo (probably because one item was no longer available and it had stuck somehow), cancelled it, and reordered for delivery tomorrow. Plus voucher - admittedly my first online purchase from them, so perhaps they were keen for me not to go elsewhere next time. But it's only T-shirts, and waiting wasn't a hassle, a surprisingly hassle-free transaction (it helped I only had to wait about 30 secs).

(4) Booked a holiday in Stockholm, with the aforementioned [personal profile] antisoppist. Also got my act together and booked my flights. Not only do I have a lovely holiday in July to look forwards to, but I have an excused not to think about bedroom curtains until I have wandered around the interiors section of Swedish department stalls being inspired.

(5) MY WASHING MACHINE SEEMS TO BE WORKING AGAIN!!!! I am not counting my chickens, but I am also not phoning the repair man.

I do have to be in the office tomorrow morning for 9:15am, which will be tiring, but that is small beans against a functioning washing machine and Swedish holiday.

When a potential shopper goes into Lidl/Aldi, one of two things must happen:

(1) They leave without making a purchase.
(2) They leave having purchased at least one item that they did not intend to purchase when they entered the shop.

This post is brought to you by a day on which I visited both. I was at least able to resist the licorice liqueur*, and sadly did not have to resist the merino mid-layer which was what I went for**, because although it was great and only £15, it had a high collar and the wool wasn't quite hard*** enough not to irritate my neck.

I do have some blackberry liqueur and a very large amaryllis bulb. And mini-stollen.

*Possibly the least difficult thing I have ever done in my life.

**Officially for cycling, but I reckoned it would work for skiing.

***That may not be the technical term, but I know what I mean!
