Ikea! I've been to a shop called Ikea!
Mar. 20th, 2011 06:53 pmIt had to happen. Twenty-four hours after solemnly stating to
antisoppist* that I intended to stand against the tide of the Ikea Poang chair, I fell. No-one had told me that they had introduced a dark wood version. I could stand against the Swedish birch, but not against this one. Which I one day intend to cover in something rather more exciting, but inevitably that's not going to be for some time.
I also have a chest of drawers and bedside cabinet, so the cardboard boxes and black binbags may soon be gone from one room at least. And I managed to avoid buying anything in the market hall section beyond an upstairs bin, which is quite an achievement.
*Whose patience with other people's furniture plans is to be admired. Though I think she would be less impressed with their translation of the recipe for meatballs, which has definitely not been done by a native English speaker.
