It has been a day best described as one of those days, and there I shall leave it, having had the fortune on my side, and misfortune on hers, to run into [personal profile] white_hart on the way home and complain about it to her rather than on the internet. Suffice to say it was busy, it was frustrating, and I am tired. It's a pity, because yesterday was OK.

In better news, and I know this is not actually exciting, I have located a possible cupboard for the spare bedroom. Will this be the time that the Stuff all over the place finally finds a home?

In frightening news, there are only 7 weekends left until Christmas, including the 22nd/23rd. Aargh! I had been thinking of not taking a whole fortnight off, but that would be stupid. I need a whole fortnight off.

In better news, this means that series III of The Killing is only a week away.

In frightening news, this gives me a week to buy a PVR. And a jumper.

There cannot possibly only be 7 weekends until Christmas. You must have missed out a couple of months somewhere along the line. Nor can I possibly watch series 1 and 2 of the Killing in a week. PVR boxes are recommended. As are jumpers.

I have seen the first 4 episodes of both series. The magic PVR box should prevent it vanishing for ever before I catch up this time at least. It is their fault for putting on two episodes at once. No-one can be expected to concentrate on more than an hour of Danish at a time without falling over with exhaustion.

Eek. Oh dear. It doesn't sound like a fun day/week/existence.

Borgen I was willing to stay up late for more of, even in Danish.

We have reached the point where the magic box is full (I am not responsible for every episode of Horrible Histories and Wolfblood) and have to argue about what gets deleted. There is an option to copy things off it via USB but I haven't worked out how to do it yet. On the plus side, last night I discovered it had recorded 36 episodes of Jeeves and Wooster and Son turns out to appreciate it, which will make a change from Merlin.

What is a PVR? And why do you need a jumper to watch the Killing? Is it so that you can identify with the heroine?

I'm sorry you had a vile day. I am taking a sip of red wine in your honour. This won't help you, but it makes me feel better.

PVRs are what review sites seem to call hard disk recorders, which is what I call digiboxes for recording TV now we can't use our old VCRs. I do not really need a jumper for the Killing, and will not buy one, but it feels like wearing knitwear ought to be part of the mood (and they had suitable candidates in M&S).

I hope the wine was good - I cracked and opened some myself, and it has definitely improved the day.

I'm sure I did just as much airing of woes, plus snuffling disgustingly.
