I'm at an age now where - especially in winter - any activity that requires venturing out of an evening and not getting home before nine is Too Tiring, but I think it's good to push oneself once a week. Unlike you, I have no artistic creativity whatsoever, so my current class is Beginners' Climbing (I struggle terribly with the technical bits and it's very rough on the hands, but I enjoy it in a weird, masochistic sort of way and have hopes of being marginally better at it by the end of the ten weeks).
The Big Complex Mixed Media Piece sounds amazing - are you quite sure you want to limit yourself to one tiny pencil-drawm vase that is only in conversation with the Smith's paper it's drawn on, when you could be doing installations?
