Sometimes the slash just writes itself
Jul. 25th, 2008 02:37 pmFrom The Prisoner of Zenda, by Anthony Hope, which I have been reading with great enjoyment. Rudolf, our hero, has been impersonating the King of Ruritania and sighing over the beautiful and loving Princess Flavia as he tries to defeat the machinations of the wicked Black Michael, the Duke of Strelsau and the King’s half-brother. He also seems to be keen on the manly beauty, brilliant swordsmanship, courage, flair, and audacity of Rent-A-Henchman, Rupert of Hentzau. See, for example, his final description. ( Probably unnecessary spoiler cut )
That last sentence is simply fantastic. What is one meant to think, but "Cor, I would!" I shall be reading the sequel.
